“We were thrilled with the response,” said Larry Coulter, president of DevTek, Inc. “Demand for the earpieces was tremendous and the feedback from fans surveyed during the championship round clearly show they enjoyed the ability to listen in on network coverage of the event.”
Sylvain Couture of Decade Transmitters in Sherbrooke, Quebec was instrumental in the success of the effort, said Marketing Director Joe Holmes.
“Mr. Couture was our liaison with Industry Canada, who regulates the use of FM frequencies in Canada,” Holmes. “He also provided and configured the FM broadcast equipment needed to transmit the RDS and PGA World Feed audio feeds.”
While many fans kept their earpieces on French or English, others enjoyed toggling back and forth between the two broadcasts.
“This was a tremendous launch for InUrEar™,” Coulter said. “The PGA TOUR is a wonderful organization to work with and we sincerely appreciate the opportunity given to DevTek, Inc. to make this project happen.”
